Dylan Campbell
My theory on what really makes a song is the artist’s subject passion. Commonly politics, women and money, they all bolster the final product. “One Hundred Years” is an experimental indie rock album that explores the genre with a certain “catchyness”, finding it’s passion in life and experience. These foci give this album a personality; each track a new affair with fresh instrumentals and vocals that, at times, carry the melody more than the instrumentals. I’m curious to ask the artist what his influences in writing are. You can hear hints of classic rock like The Beatles, as well as fresher sounds, like The Shins.
Out of what’s available, I don’t really have a favorite, but I am somewhat partial to the track “Liars“. But why choose for you, check out the whole thing and grab it for free! Dylan Campbell’s One Hundred Years.
While I’d like to make out like this album is fresh off the press, in actuality it has been cooling on the windowsill for some time; long enough that the artist is actually getting ready to release his next album(ish, hopefully within the next couple weeks). The album is being released under the name “Vermilion Club” and will be the project of Dylan Campbell and Zeno Pittarelli. With some luck, I think this band could go somewhere.
